The chair's padding needed to be repaired. While the fabric was fine, the bottom was not.

First, gather the supplies!  The tools and supplies are as follows:

Drill Staple gun and staples Hammer Scissors Zig Zag Scissors Needle nose plyers

Flat head screwdriver Knife Fabric Batting Mesh backing (optional)

Step 1: Remove all the old padding, mesh, and staples.

Step 2: Add upholstery strips by stapling them to the underside of the seat.

Step 3: Add upholstery strips by stapling them to the underside of the seat.

Step 4: Here is how they should look. Now weave fabric strips the other direction.

Step 5: Here is the finished seat. Now it is time to add the foam.

Step 6: Trace the foam around the chair about 3/4 inch. Then, Cut the foam with an electric knife.

Step 7: Be sure to cut perpendicular so you get a clean line.

Step 8: Cover the foam with batting and staple the bottom of the chair.

Then staple the corners.

Arrow

Step 9: Add fabric to the top of the batting, start by stapling the sides then do the corners.

Step 10: Cut off the excess fabric.
