Some notes on this recipe. You can easily change it to ground turkey if you prefer that. If you want it spicier, add ¼ tsp red pepper flakes instead of ⅛ tsp.
What ingredients are in an easy Italian Sloppy Joes recipe?
1 lb of ground beef
1 red pepper chopped
1 onion chopped
2 cups of homemade tomato sauce or bought sauce with or without chunks
3 ounces tomato paste
1 TBSP Italian herbs mix
3 garlic cloves minced
½ tsp salt
⅛ tsp red pepper flakes
A quarter teaspoon of pepper black
4 potato hamburger rolls
Optional: 4 slices of Provolone Cheese
How do you make this easy Italian Sloppy Joes Recipe?
In a large skillet, at medium-high heat, add two tablespoons of olive oil and ground beef.
Break down the meat and cook for five minutes until light brown.
Add to the meat the chopped red pepper, chopped onion, the Italian seasoning mix, the garlic. Stir to combine and cook for another 3-5 minutes or when the onions become translucent. Stir occasionally.
Add tomato sauce (try ours on our blog: 20-minute Tomato Sauce recipe) and tomato paste and the rest of the salt pepper and red pepper flakes, lower the temperature to low, and cover for 5- 10 minutes.

Add to standard-size potato rolls. If you want to add cheese, try provolone slices.
Doesn't it look yummy? My family really enjoyed it and it was great as leftovers too. We added more red pepper flakes so it was a bit spicier but delicious.
