Inspiring Quotes about Overcoming Fear and Anxiety

Looking at the clutter in an area, do you see just the clutter, or do you know the fear of what ifs that happen if the clutter is gone? What if I need it again? What if I can't afford to buy a replacement if I need it? Many what-ifs can come up. Fear and anxiety can stop us from doing and getting organized. Today, I am sharing Quotes (Affiliate Link) about Overcoming Fear and Anxiety and ways to combat both fear and anxiety. Let's get started!

Many fears can stop us from taking action. Below are some common concerns people may experience.

Fear of failure (Atychiphobia) is the intense fear of failing at something. It may cause you to put off tasks and avoid potentially unsuccessful activities. Avoidance is very popular among these people.

Fear of rejection (Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD)) - This disorder can affect people with ADHD. These people may feel embarrassed and get very angry when someone has hurt or rejected them. They may set high standards for themselves.

Fear of success (Success anxiety or success phobia, or achievemephobia) - People fear succeeding so much that they self-sabotage themselves. It is similar to the fear of failure but more about how other people will react to your success.

Fear of Imperfection (Atelophobia)- These people have difficulty accomplishing tasks and achieving goals due to their desire for perfection.

But let's not let them stop us from doing what we need or want. After all, doing is why we are here on this planet. Here are inspiring quotes to help stop the fear and start doing. I also added my wisdom as well.

Quotes about Overcoming Fear and Anxiety

The first section is quotes (Affiliate Link) about fear. Do you feel fearful? Where does it come from? Are you allowing it to control you? Read these quotes (Affiliate Link) and see if they resonate with you. I included my own two cents comments after each image quote (Affiliate Link).

jkrowling quote

"I was set free because my greatest fear had been realised, and I still had a daughter who I adored, and I had an old typewriter and a big idea. And so rock bottom became a solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life." ~ J.K. Rowling

My Two Cents: Even if we hit rock bottom, we will still be able to get back up, dust ourselves off, and move forward.

Life is short, live it. Love is rare, grab it.

"Life is short, live it. Love is rare, grab it. Anger is bad, dump it. Fear is awful, face it. ~ Unknown

My Two Cents: Being realistic about your fears is the best way to conquer them.

Ralph waldo emerson quote

"Do the thing you fear, and the death of fear is certain." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste of death but once." ~ William Shakespeare

"Do not fear mistakes. You will know failure. Continue to reach out." ~ Benjamin Franklin

"I failed my way to success." ~ Thomas Edison

"Failure is a detour, not a dead-end street." ~ Zig Ziglar

"Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy." ~ Dale Carnegie

My Two Cents: When you allow fear to control you, you stop all the greatness you can share.

rosa parks quote

"I have learned over the years that when one's mind is made up, this diminishes fear; knowing what must be done does away with fear." ~ Rosa Parks

My Two Cents: Your passion is stronger than your concerns.

corra may white harris quote

"The bravest thing you can do when you are not brave is to profess courage and act accordingly." ~ Corra May White Harris

"I learned that courage was not the absence of fear but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid but he who conquers that fear." ~ Nelson Mandela

My Two Cents: Do your best, even if you are fearful. You will do great things.

Ways to Stop Allowing Fear to Control You

Are you still allowing your fear to control you? Let's stop that right now. Here are tips on how to conquer your fear and get doing and clear the clutter. Try these steps to conquer the fear inside you.

  1. Say to yourself that having fear is normal. Everyone has it. It's essential to tell yourself, 'I am normal.'
  2. Write the fear(s) down on paper. Use as many pieces of paper as you need to get the concern out.
  3. Look at your fear on paper and then ask yourself, "What would happen if my fear came true?" Write that down as well.
  4. What feelings come up when you see your fear on paper? Write that down too.
  5. Then find an old metal saucepan and burn ALL the written papers in the saucepan outside the home or shred it and throw it away. Tell yourself, "Now that I understand the fear, I will not let it control me."

This technique has worked for me over the years. It allowed me to stop playing the fear-mind games.

Quotes about Anxiety

The next set of quotes (Affiliate Link) we are going to share is about anxiety. Reading these quotes (Affiliate Link) may help you feel calmer and feel like you are being seen. Feel free to pick and choose the ones that resonate with you.

“Breathe darling. This is just a chapter. It’s not your whole story (Affiliate Link).” ~ S.C. Lourie

“Mantra for Anxiety: This is not you. This is something moving through you. It can leave out of the same door it came in.” ~ James Clear

“Your mountain may be harder to climb, but oh, the view is divine.” by Jennae Cecelia

“Your mountain may be harder to climb, but oh, the view is divine.” – Jennae Cecelia

“Our anxiety does not come from thinking about the future, but from wanting to control it.” ~ Kahlil Gibran

“Stress is self-created, I decided to stop manufacturing it. We can choose an internal calm and joy even amid the chaos.” ~ Brendon Burchard

“Sometimes the best thing you can do is not think, not wonder, not imagine, not obsess. Just breathe and have faith that everything will work out for the best.” ~ Unknown

“You are bigger than what is making you anxious.” ~ Unknown

Ways to Conquer Anxiety

This section is all about ways to conquer anxiety and start doing things in your home and life. Try these tips!

  1. Start doing things slowly. If you want to clear a room, start with a drawer for about 15 minutes. See how you feel then, move on to another task that may take 30 minutes.
  2. Get a good night's sleep. When we are rested, we can deal with obstacles better and push through and finish tasks.
  3. Learn the triggers that make you anxious. Learn what makes you feel anxious. Speak with a health care provider or mental healthy provider for more tips.
  4. Deep breathing. When you start feeling overwhelmed while doing a task, stop, take a few deep breaths, and exhale fully. Here are some breathing exercises you can do to help you.

I hope these Quotes (Affiliate Link) about Overcoming Fear and Anxiety and additional tips inspired you to let go of them and take action to do what needs to be done in your home and life.

I like all the quotes. I think they are fun to read and made even better when I read who said them. But my favorite part of this post is your two cents. I truly love the way you drilled the quote down and put your spin on it. I also like the idea of writing down your fears, acknowledging them, and then burning them up.

I have to agree that deep breathing is honestly my best antidote to anxiety. And as I breathe, I remind myself that I will find a way through whatever it is, as I have every time in the past.

This is a wonderful collection. I can't even pick a favorite. Maybe the Emerson quote about doing the thing I fear and that being the death of the fear.

Thanks for sharing all of these!

Great quotes. I'm glad you included fear of success, as I think that's often underrated as a concern. People who do too well find themselves in the spotlight and/or promoted outside of their comfort zones, and they're also often assigned more work. "Serial" succeeders sometimes learn to be dubious of achievement and fear being seen as "too big for their britches," too. Personally, I have atelophobia, but I feel it less as a fear of imperfection and more as a fear of mediocrity. But hey, fear is fear, and it stops us in our tracks! And the Dale Carnegie quote is my favorite!

I appreciate how you addressed fear and anxiety- emotions we all experience at one time or another. Both are real and bubble up at times or regularly.

Fear can prevent me from taking action. Sometimes I can talk myself out of it. I might say, "Linda, you're afraid, but do it anyway." Other times, I might need to discuss the fear with a trusted loved one or friend. They will help to normalize it and help encourage me with a path forward.

But fear is also a warning signal. There are times when it's appropriate to be afraid. And at those times, I honor and pay attention to the sign.

What a great collection of fear-stopping quotes. The one by Rose Parks resonated with me in particular. I often find that it can be the angst of making a decision where fear resides. But once you take that small action step in spite of your fear, amazingly, the fear begins to dissipate.

I ask myself: "What would facing my fear give me access to?" The answer, in addition to plenty of externals, provides me with even more wonderful internals. For example: satisfaction, freedom, self-respect, happiness, peace, pleasure, fulfillment, etc. All good stuff that money cannot buy!

Wonderful quotes. As for me, fear is something I like, it drives me to overcome it. If it wasn't for fear or failure, what would we have to overcome, or something to achieve?

I feel I'm really lucky Sabrina, as I don't have fears. My father really instilled a core of confidence within my being, which I am eternally grateful for. It seems to be the fears of those closest to me that hold me back because it is holding them back. Thx for this enlightening post.

I'm currently working through some of my fears by starting to take dancing lessons. It's a very frustrating learning curve for me, which is why I decided to do it. I know I will get better and more coordinated if I stick with it.

Gosh, I never thought of fear being trapped in clutter, but I can see how it is. I think my husband has worse fears than I do about letting things. Some of the things he keeps are absolutely crazy. Like, it took me forever to get him to throw out these golf balls he was given as a gift that had the emblem of his football team. He's never played golf!! But he didn't want to let them go because they were a gift. I finally told him I was throwing them out unless he played golf within a certain time frame (which he didn't).

The quote that stands out for me on this list is the one by Rosa Parks. Part of its power is in the actual works but a large part is in knowing that those words were spoken by such a brave, courageous person who obviously put her thoughts into action.

Have always been brave and done the things people normally would not do. As far as I'm concerned the thing to fear is fear itself. As far as I'm concerned if you are determined, make an effort and persevere you can succeed with almost anything. On the other hand, we should not forget that fear is necessary to keep us alive. Imagine if we didn't react when someone suddenly appears behind out back..

awesome quotes. I think my eldest son is the bravest of us all. He jumped off a tressle bridge to save a drowning "prince" (true story) only to drag him and ashore and have the prince yell.. "You save me again!" Whenever I see quotes of bravery I think of him and laugh as sometimes courage leads us to do things unexpected.

I like your technique for clearing the clutter of fear. Sometimes just thinking through what would happen if our fear came true makes us realize we could deal with it. I think writing that our and then burning the paper would feel freeing.
