While remodeling our kitchen, I realized that I didn't have shelving (Affiliate Link) to hold all the manufactured prepackaged storage bag boxes. So, I decided to stand all the food storage boxes on their side to save space and to allow me to grab what I needed without having to slide out the other boxes. I installed a pull-out drawer to hold all of them in the cabinet and added food storage boxes, like aluminum foil, wax paper, parchment paper (Affiliate Link), and storage bags. They I realized the storage bag holders were too tall. So, I had to get creative. Here is how I made the DIY Food Storage Bag Holder. It's easy and can be done in one hour with very little material.

Here are the supplies needed to make this DIY Food Storage Bag Holder.
1 - 4 inch PVC Pipe 10 inches long (affiliate link)
Decorative Con-Tact Paper (affiliate Link)
One sharpie (Affiliate Link) marker
1 Hacksaw (Affiliate Link)
Emery (Affiliate Link) paper
Instructions on how to make this DIY Food Storage Bag Holder
Step 1: Buy 4 inch PVC pipe 10 inches long.
Step 2: Cut the PVC pipe in half (5-inch sections) with a hacksaw (Affiliate Link). This is half of the height of the gallon bag's length and holds it up nicely.
Step 3: Clean up the edges with an emery (Affiliate Link) paper. I added the Con-Tact Paper to the inside and outside of the PVC pipe. Using a black Sharpie (Affiliate Link) marker, I colored the top and bottom of the PVC pipe.
How much did it cost to make these holders?
The cost was very inexpensive. We had all the supplies and tools (Affiliate Link) on hand. To give you an example of how affordable this project is, a 10 ft 4-inch PVC pipe costs $9.00.
How long did it take to make these holders?
It took about 1 hour to make these holders and place them in my pull-out drawer.

That's it. Here is the final product in its home. I didn't affix it to the drawer, but you could. It can also be used for reusable gallon and half-gallon bags. I can fit about three of them in these PVC pipes. Note: the Con-Tact paper pattern is no longer available. You can find a variety of different types on Amazon (Affiliate Link) (affiliate).
If you don't use storage bags, you can use them for other things in the kitchen or other areas in the home, like cooking utensils (Affiliate Link). I hope this inspires you to think outside the box when it comes to organizing products in the home.

Hm...first my linen closet and now you have me reexamining my pantry!
All these bags--snack to gallon--and the wraps--wax to parchment, are on the top shelf of the pantry. I can reach them. if I'm wearing shoes!
It's not ideal and takes up space I could use for something else, but as yet, I've had no ideas. Hm...must go look!
For all those pesky plastic shopping bags? I stuff them into a square tissue box. That's in the bottom of the pantry. When it's full, off they go to the recycling bin. (Not my idea, but it sure works!)

The use of PVC Pipe apparently knows no bounds! I love this idea, though I do keep my Zip-loc bags in the box they came in on the bottom shelf of my pantry. I've been wanting to find or make some kind of box for all the plastic grocery bags I bring home. Right now I smoosh them all into one bag that hangs from a hook on the inside of the pantry door, but I'd rather have a container to hide them in.

Yes, I leave storage bags in containers. I have an "odds and ends" drawer which is almost full to the brim.
I am particular with my kitchen and do not like utensils cluttering my surfaces - the few I have. However, these look ideal and rather cute.

It is great to have things available so you can just grab them when you need them and not have to fiddle through messy drawers. This is a clever and creative way to store storage bags. I have a a very narrow cupboard in my kitchen that seems custom made for storage bags, plastic wrap, aluminum foil, and wax paper in their original packages. I am lifting them from on top of each other though.

I love the idea for aluminum foil, etc. I have those and food storage boxes in one of my deep drawers but often find I have to more one or more to get at the one I want. Great Idea, Sabrina, one I'm going to put into practice (as soon as the snow gets up so I feel comfortable driving).
