Cherry Hand Pie Recipe

Hand pies are a wonderful treat for everyone in your home. Not only do they taste delicious, but they also are easy to make. They can be made during the week and even on holidays for a celebratory dessert. This Cherry Hand Pie recipe used premade pie crust but if you wish to make your own, you will be able to use this recipe with that crust as well.

If you want to fold the crust to seal the edges instead of using a fork, make the circle a little bigger by using a 6-inch circle cookie cutter.  I found that just using the fork, I had a little spill of the filling.

Ingredients:

1 pre-made pie crust
10 tablespoon of Cherry pie filling
3-4 tablespoon white sugar crystals
2-3 tablespoon red sugar crystals
1 egg
2 tablespoon milk 2%

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Roll out the pie crust.

Use a 5 to 6-inch circle cutter and make 4 circles. Remove the access and roll out again and make one more. One pie crust makes a total of 5 hand pies.

Add two tablespoons on one side in each circle.

Catalina Crunch Low Carb Cereal

Fold in half and then seal with a little water and press a fork down to create a firm top and bottom edge. Poke the top of the pies with the fork a few times.

Remove and let cool for at least 25 minutes then serve. Doesn't it look delicious? It didn't last long in my home.  The fact that it only made 5 really was nice because we didn't feel like we overate them. It's always great when you can watch your waistline and eliminate food waste.

I love this. My dad used to make something like this for us growing up. It brings back so many memories.
