The other day, my kids and I didn't know what we wanted for dinner. I had forgotten to take something out of the freezer so I decided to do a pantry (Affiliate Link) meal. First, I created pizza dough from a homemade pizza dough recipe I had from years ago. I looked in the pantry (Affiliate Link) and found canned pineapples and I had bacon and spinach that needed to be used so I decided to make pineapple bacon spinach pizza.

What is in a Pineapple Bacon Spinach Pizza Recipe?
2 Pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
2 cup Tomato sauce ( I add more parsley and basil with the jarred tomato sauce (Affiliate Link))
¾ cup canned Pineapple chopped
6 pieces of cut Bacon chopped (I used low sodium)
2 cups of Mexican mix shredded cheese (I used Kraft)
1 cup of baby spinach shredded
1 tablespoon cornmeal for pizza stone or cookie sheet (Affiliate Link)
How to make this Pineapple Bacon Spinach Pizza Recipe?
First pizza dough, place some flour down on a clean surface and roll out the pizza dough. Be sure to get out as many bubbles as possible. Make it any shape you like. Then add the cornmeal to the surface of your baking sheet (Affiliate Link) or pizza peel. This helps the pizza not stick to the baking sheet (Affiliate Link) or stone.
Add a thin layer of tomato sauce (Affiliate Link) to the pizza.
Then add the shredded Mexican mix cheese or whatever shredded cheese you like.
We made two different types of pizza. This is pizza #1.
And, this is pizza #2.
Add the chopped pineapples and chopped bacon. Then add the shredded baby spinach.
If you use a pizza peel, slide the pizza onto the heated stone.
Place in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until cheese melts and the crust looks golden brown.

And here is what the Pineapple Bacon Spinach Pizza looked like when it was finished cooking.
Here is the second pizza pulled out of the oven.
This is the pizza cut into squares. I like squares because you can better control the portion size. What do you think? We really enjoyed it, and we were able to use up the leftovers! YAY!
Enjoy!

Janet Barclay says
It's been so long since I made homemade pizza! I never thought about having a shape preference - I just cut round ones in triangles and rectangular one in squares - but I never thought about square being easier to control the portion size. It's a bit less messy to eat too!
