I read recently that September is Self-Improvement Month. With the kids going back to school and the family getting back into a routine (Affiliate Link), it's a perfect time to revisit yourself and get into a better self-care routine (Affiliate Link). If you want to improve upon yourself, this month's organizing challenge is for you. First, let's define self-improvement.

What is self-improvement?
Dictionary.com defines it as the "improvement of one's mind, character, etc., through one's own efforts." Make sense, right?
Self-improvement starts with awareness. If you aren't aware of what is stopping you from getting what you want, how can you change it? You can't. First, you must draw attention to the area that needs to be changed.
To help you find those area blocks, I compiled a list of areas that could need improvement. Answer this question for each of the areas below and write 3 main blocks down on paper.
What blocks me from being the best me in ….
my behavior toward things
my belief system
my charity
my learned lessons
my humility
my emotions
my etiquette
my ethics
my creativity
my goals and passion
my health
my vulnerability
my thinking
When going through these areas, think of the big picture and where you want to be in 5 years, 10 years. What is your ideal scenario? What will make you happy?
Here is a form to print below to help you:
To help you find these answers, I have added some links to other posts I have written about the subject.

It's important to remember this is not a "get rich quick scheme"; it will take time to change these areas, dismantle your old beliefs, and change your habits. So, if you draw attention to the particular areas you want to change, create a plan, and then execute the steps to complete your goal, you will do it!

Love the post. It is always good to improve upon yourself. I decided this month to expand my business and I'm taking a class. Was on the fence about it but took the leap and signed up. This message just gave me a great confirmation. Thanks.

This is such a great exercise. I am going to do this one evening when I am feeling introspective. What a great way to work on blocks. I think this could be very powerful. Also, I will put this on Pinterest because it might help others. Thanks Sabrina.

It was my pleasure. Glad you enjoyed it.

Speaking of habit changes, I highly recommend Gretchen Rubin's "Better Than Before". Have you read it?

My creativity blocks me from being the best me... there is not a creative bone in my body! I never planned on changing that though, so I married my creative husband instead. 🙂

Way to be resourceful and creative. 😉

Yes, our thinking can really impact the way we experience life. Some of the items on your list feel easier to me to change than others, but there is always some place to make a step forward!
