When you find your favorite gluten-free flour mixture, you can pretty much use it for any recipe you plan to make. This gluten free banana chocolate chip waffles recipe is a super easy one for your gluten-free diet children.

I had frozen the waffles after I made them, too, but they do get a bit soft. Just toast them up again in the toaster for a quick breakfast on weekdays. The trick to making this recipe even easier is to cube the bananas and make sure you get mini chocolate chips.

If you want to make it dairy-free, just make sure the mini morsels are dairy-free as well as and you use an alternate milk option. I added my favorite alternative options below. I like to use light soy milk with vanilla flavoring.

GF Banana Chocolate Chip Waffles Instructions:

  1. First, cut the banana into small cubes by cutting it a long way, then in smaller slices. Set aside.
  2. Mix your gluten-free flour mix together following the instructions on the back of the package, then add the remaining ingredients.
  3. Add 1 cup of chocolate chips - minis work best for waffles.
  4. Then, add 2 teaspoon of vanilla extract (Affiliate Link) (pick the gluten-free labeled bottle).
  5. Add the cut-up banana pieces.
  6. Then add 1 tablespoon of cinnamon (Affiliate Link).
  7. Bake in your Waffle maker as per your waffle iron (Affiliate Link)'s instructions and serve immediately.

Alternative milk to use to make these GF Banana Chocolate Chip Waffles

There are a variety of milk alternatives you can use with waffles. Below are my go-to types.

Almond Milk

I like organic almond milk unsweetened and vanilla-flavored for waffles. It punches up the vanilla flavor in the waffles. They have no GMOs if you go with the organic brand.

Soy Milk

Soy milk works well, too. I usually use the unsweetened version. It is probably the closest to milk when it comes to consistency. Keep in mind that most soy milk is genetically modified. So, find a brand that is organic. You will probably pay a little more, but it will taste better.

Coconut Milk

While I like the flavor of coconut milk, I found that it will add a little coconut flavor to the waffles. If you are OK with this flavor, feel free to use it. I like the unsweetened unflavored version. Typically non-GMO, you can buy this at most grocery stores.

What supplies do you need to make this recipe?

You will need a few tools (Affiliate Link) to make this recipe: a waffle iron (Affiliate Link), a mixing bowl (Affiliate Link), and a whisk (Affiliate Link). Feel free to buy them on Amazon (Affiliate Link) (affiliate).

Reveal

Eat them right away! Important fact: Gluten-Free waffles are crispy when they come out of the waffle maker, but if they sit around for a while, they will get soft. So, eat them right away. Yum!
