Staying motivated on the Organizing Journey
Janet Barclay says
This one's my favorite: "I gently release what no longer serves me, making room for joy."
Janet Schiesl says
All great mantras. Thanks for offering so many. Everyone should be able to find one they like. My favorite is I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO A CLEARER LIGHTER LIFE.
Julie Bestry says
These are such wonderful, gentle mantras, and I appreciate that they're written in affirmation form, as I'm often terrible at coming up with affirmations. I think my favorite, and the one I'll share with clients the most often, is "With every step I hate, I'm becoming better at managing my time," because it exudes the self-compassion that my clients often fail to show themselves.
Seana Turner says
I love all of these, Sabrina. They ooze compassion and understanding, while inspiring us to reach for the true benefits of decluttering. I think the one about not judging myself is my favorite. Look forward, not back, and not with self-recrimination, right?
Sabrina Quairoli says
Yes, I love that one too! Judgment during the process of decluttering is a big one. Reminding ourselves to be kind to ourselves through the process of decluttering is critical for a successful purging.
Linda Samuels says
What wonderful "decluttering" mantras! Perhaps because it's spring, decluttering seems to be the topic for a lot of discussion and action. Clutter is the theme for my blog this month. I noticed many of our fellow bloggers are also writing about clutter. So your mantras come JUST in time. I love them all, but especially, #1...."I feel lighter every time I let things go." That is SO true.
Seana Turner says
I love these mantras. I am working with some fellow organizers on a meet-up group to discuss minimalism, that today the concepts of lighter and simpler are really resonating with me. Why carry more than we want to?
Sabrina Quairoli says
That's great. Feel free to share these mantras.
