If your favorite baker or home cook is like me and already has the mixer (Affiliate Link), you can buy the attachments. I love my attachment pieces and have used them for years. Here are my favorites and some I'm looking to get. Please note these are affiliate links through Amazon, and I will earn an affiliate fee if you decide to make a purchase.
KitchenAid® RVSA Slicer/Shredder Attachment for Stand Mixers
The first KitchenAid® (Affiliate Link) Mixer (Affiliate Link) Attachments I will discuss is the slicer/shredder (Affiliate Link). It's great for grating large batches of cheese. To save money on Parmesan cheese, we would buy a large block and grade it ourselves. This would save us about two dollars per pound and create almost double the volume of cheese. Woo hoo!
KitchenAid® KSM1APC Spiralizer Attachment with Peel, Core and Slicer
Update 2024: My husband purchased this one for me for Christmas a few years back, and it is still going strong. So, I did away with the handheld spiralizer version. It's a very well-designed and sturdy accessory piece, and it is in a storage box to protect it from possible cuts on hands when pulling the attachment piece out of the box.
This is a great gift for friends and family who love low-carb dishes. Here's a link from their site on how to use a Spiralizer.
KitchenAid® FGA Food Grinder Attachment for Stand Mixers or KitchenAid KSMMGA Metal Food Grinder Attachment, Silver
A food grinder is great for making ground meat and can save you a ton of money on grinding your meat yourself. It's also helpful when making meatloaf to combine the veal, beef, and pork together. There are two options: a white plastic version and a metal version. We used it to make hamburgers from scratch instead of buying the prepackaged ones. To save money on ground meat, we bought better-quality local meat (organic) and ran the cubed meat through the grinder. Then, weighed them to 1.5 and 3 pounds and froze the meat to enjoy later. It worked great. You can also make sausages, but I don't recall if we bought an additional attachment or if it came with it.
KitchenAid® KPEX Pasta Excellence Set with 6 Different Attachments
This pasta set is another gift option that KitchenAid® (Affiliate Link) Mixer (Affiliate Link) Attachments look fun. I purchased two pieces when they were sold separately, but this one has all six pieces! It's fun to give to someone who loves making pasta, and eliminating the pasta maker they probably already have will reduce clutter.
KitchenAid® 1042903482 Food Processor Attachment with Dicing Kit
I saw (Affiliate Link) this KitchenAid® (Affiliate Link) Mixer (Affiliate Link) Attachment recently. I don't have it because I have a food processor, but this one actually attaches to the mixer (Affiliate Link). It gives you all the blades you need, too! If my processor goes, I will definitely look for this one.
New KitchenAid® Mixer Pasta Press Stand-Mixer Attachment KPEXTA 6-pc Pasta Spag maker
And this is the one I want to get: a New KitchenAid® Mixer Pasta Press Stand-Mixer Attachment KPEXTA 6-pc Pasta spag maker It's new this year and makes my favorite, Rigatoni! I have to add it to my wish list -- Hint, hint!
I hope these KitchenAid® (Affiliate Link) Mixer (Affiliate Link) Attachments give you some gift ideas for your favorite cooks. It was fun revisiting these attachments and remembering how we used them. It's giving me ideas on what to make for upcoming parties I am hosting.

I don't have one, but I used to have a Sunbeam which was similar - I had attachments for making pasta and bread dough, can't remember what else. Eventually I decided it was too heavy and took up too much room and donated it, but I do miss it from time to time.
