How to Find Wasted Storage Spaces in Your Home
Are you looking for hidden storage spaces in your home? With a small house, I have to be creative in every room. As the kids get bigger and my house seems to get smaller, it is even more crucial that I make my storage space count. This post shares the ways I found storage spaces in my home. I designed and developed these areas in my house for more storage space. Also, I added quick wins for storage space solutions, along with additional findings on wasted space that may help you.
Now, let's focus on the living spaces of your home.
The living space is the most difficult to organize in a small home. In our post, 11 Ways to Maximize Space in a Tiny Living Room, we talk about different furniture (affiliate) pieces to help you organize this room and make it look trendy and attractive.
Now it's time to visit the main heart of the home -- your kitchen.

7 Book Storage Solutions For Small Spaces
Small spaces can be subjective to each person. My goal in this series is to inspire my visitors and help them look at their homes differently, so they can see creative solutions to make their houses a home, regardless of their size. The first one in the series is book storage solutions for small spaces.
Clothing lovers, you can rest easy! We have you covered.
We always talk about reducing those piles, but let's be realistic. Not everyone will do that and may prefer to have more clothing in their home. But in a small closet, it may be more difficult to organize without some help. This post discusses areas in your home where you can store clothing, such as out-of-season items, to make your current-season clothing more accessible.
Well, there you have it! While it may be frustrating to live in a smaller home, some benefits may outweigh the lack of extra space. One of the best reasons for living in a smaller house is that you can be more creative in designing your spaces. I have to measure and figure out how much space I have, though, which may be a downside for some people. It helps me use my imagination and keeps me from buying anything too large (affiliate) for the room. Sure, I would love to have all the space in the world, but I am sacrificing my time and energy to maintain the bigger home with all that excess space. I would rather be helping others organize or cook meals for friends and family.
I hope this post helps you organize your small spaces storage areas without trading in your comfort.

I love all of these solutions for small space storage. I have ottomans for storage. They do double duty, a place to sit and a place to store. I really like when furniture has multi uses.
Amazing how you were able to cull information from many of your former posts. Great work, Sabrina!

Perhaps the biggest aspect of having a smaller living space is reducing the number of things we're keeping. I guess that's a given. Because the reality is that we only use 20% of the things we own and store in most categories. But once you've done the edit, you've offered so many excellent suggestions to maximize the space you have left. Often it is finding storage space in places you might typically overlook. Recently, we added some additional storage in our kitchen by stacking these lovely 7" wide gray modular stacking drawers from The Container Store. Before that, the space was open and unused. But now I have a vitamin and baking center that I didn't have before.
Sabrina Quairoli says
That's wonderful that you were able to create a new area just by adding storage. Have fun with it.

I love the sponges, idea! I can't tell you how many sponges I purchase and never can locate one when I need it. The shelving is great too. Are they difficult to mount on the walls?
Sabrina says
Not really, there have little hooks on the shelves in the back. We used drywall screws with anchors. The mason jars project was a little more difficult, we had to get the right hooks to attach to the back.
Becoming SuperMommy says
I love that mason jar project!!!!!

I've just moved into a smaller house. It still has lots of room for what we need, but there were areas where I needed to get better organized to use the space. It feels to good to get organized and get by with less space. I like the shelves you've used in your daughter's bedroom.

I have more house than I'll ever use but my son has a 450 sq.foot condo so we're always looking for storage ideas. I like the idea of using the shelf for a night table - will check that one out.

I know so many people that move just because they can't manage the stuff in their space. It's sad. My goal is to help people manage the smaller spaces so they don't have to move. Thanks for stopping by.
