How much did it cost to make this project?
This project only cost 5 dollars because I used spring flowers and the other supplies from a previous year.
How long did it take to make this project?
This project took me about 1 hour to complete. It was pretty easy to do.
How did I make this project?
First, cut a clean edge of the floral yarn. Heat up the hot glue gun (Affiliate Link). A low setting is fine if you have that option.
Starting from the bottom, add a bead of hot glue and then add the floral yarn to the affix at the bottom. Keep going around the can with the yarn, keeping it tight to the previous yarn row below. Keep going until you reach the top. Ensure you reach the very top of the can so that the edge is not showing very much. It is OK if the yarn is over the top edge. It will hide the edge of the can.
Then, optional. Cut with scissors, the red felt a little smaller than the size of the soup can. Add the peel-and-stick red felt for crafts inside the can and remove the backing. press and adhere to the inside of the soup can.
Now, add the faux floral foam to the inside to add the optional faux springtime flowers. (OPTIONAL)
Next, optional, add the ribbon to the outside of the yarn to the color of your choosing.
The Big Reveal
This is what my lovely floral yarn soup can springtime project looks like. What do you think? I didn't put a ribbon on it.
Tips on making this project
There are a few tips for this project:
- Your soup can project can use low heat to apply hot glue to the can.
- Using high-heat hot glue, the soup can project can get hot inside (through the can).
Springtime Rope Soup Can Upcycling Craft Project
The second Springtime Soup Can Craft Ideas involves only a few supplies, such as rope, fabric ribbon, and a flower. A cotton rope that is .23 in / 6 mm wide works best for this project.
I always wanted to wrap a tin can with thicker rope, so I figured I would try it this spring. Here's how I made this DIY Craft Project.
BEFORE:
For this project, I used a 15-oz can and made sure the edge was smooth and no metal was exposed around the top edge.
