Whether you call them days closet dividers, closet dividers, Monday through Friday clothing organizers, or anything else, these little day-of-the-week closet dividers are so useful to help you manage your daily clothing. I am going to show you how I made these in just an hour of your time.

What inspired me to make these days of the week closet dividers tags?

I love these little signs to help me organize my weekly clothing. This also helped my kids when they were younger do the same thing so they didn't have to spend too much time during the week deciding on what to wear.

Who can use these clothing dividers?

Anyone can use these dividers. Moms can use them to save time during the morning. Dad can use them to organize their in-office meeting outfits. These are great for moms to set up outfits for their babies so anyone can dress them in the morning. Kids can use them to make up their own kids' outfits for the week on Sunday. Teens can keep outfits together that they want to wear. Basically, anyone who wants to save time in the morning can use these easy-to-make nifty little days of the week signs.

Why should I use Day of the Week Closet Dividers?

How did I make these Day of the Week Closet Dividers?

Here is what the before picture looked like. They were made by Assorted Novelty Spring Wall Sign by Ashland® and I found them in the clearance section at Michaels.

BEFORE repurposed signs

I repurposed these items to make these clothing signs to help me get organized. They are cute the way they are but I wanted to make them more useful. Follow along and check out the easy steps.

Step 1: Using a tape measure (Affiliate Link), measure the inside of the predesigned square labels (Affiliate Link). These measured 2 ¼ x 3 inches and cut 7 - black and white vinyl sheet rectangular shapes.

Step 2: Remove the back of the vinyl sheets and adhere them to each of the insides to cover the previously printed "Berries" sign. This step will cover the center completely to create a brand new look.

Add the Rectangular vinyl pattern to cover the wording

Step 3: Cut out the Monday through Sunday labels (Affiliate Link) from the Cricut machine (Affiliate Link). I used black vinyl.

I used Copper Black font, which you can find on most Windows computers (Affiliate Link). The letters worked better because they were fatter and easier to read on the black and white pattern background. Feel free to check it out here if you want to make it on your Cricut machine (Affiliate Link).

Cricut days of the week words

Step 4: Weed the excess paper and, using the transfer tape. Press down to lift up the days of the week words. One by one, add one word to each spring sign. I made sure to center it on them.

Transfer the words with transfer tape

Press firmly and remove the transfer tape.

Press the day of the week word to the sign

Step 5: Now, change and place over your outfits to make for an easy morning routine (Affiliate Link).

Reveal:

Aren't they adorable? They are great for the recipient at your next baby shower or graduation party too. And, you can give it that personal touch too.

After repurposed signs for clothing

How much did it cost to make these closet dividers?

The cost was minimal. I found these in Michael's clearance section at the nearby store. The price was $2.00 each and I bought 7 of them. So it cost a total of $14.00. All the other supplies and tools (Affiliate Link) I had in my home.

How else can I use these days of the week closet dividers?

If you don't want to use them for clothing or in your closet, they can easily be used for several things in your home. Here are some ways you can use these throughout the house.

  • Use these signs to organize your papers. You can add these to magnet clips because they have a rope and can clip the needed documents to that day of the week.
  • Use these dividers to organize kids' sports gear. Hang the signs in front of the hooked items in a mud room, so the kids know what to bring on which day.
  • Add to a meal planning board. You can add these hanging signs to your meal planning markerboard (Affiliate Link) or chalkboard for a cute way to share what the meals will be that week.

I hope this inspires you to make weekday signs to get you and your family organized in the morning! I did another repurposing project day of the week clothing sign project some time again; you can check out here week-day clothing organizers.

Please note these are affiliate links through Amazon (Affiliate Link) and at no additional cost to you, I will earn an affiliate commission if you click through and decide to make a purchase.
