I love transforming items and making them useful again. But, I don't just do any transformation. I look for DIY projects that will help me organize the home. If you haven't seen my DIY home organizing (Affiliate Link) projects, this post is just for you. These eight DIY projects were created this year to better different areas of my home like the bedroom, the outdoor garden, the kitchen, and the craft area. I shared all of these on HomeTalk.
If you haven't heard of HomeTalk and you love to do home crafts or improve your home, you should check it out. After reviewing my DIY organizing posts this year, I was surprised at how many I did. Check all of them out here. Instead of sharing all the posts here, I am just sharing the most popular ones I shared on HomeTalk. I hope you like them.
Number 8: How To Upcycle Planters Into A Desk Pencil Holder - This one is an upcycle project that I made for my daughter's desk. She loves to draw and had many markers and colored pencils in various zipper bags in her bedroom. These planter boxes (Affiliate Link) were found at a flea market in Maryland where I went for a mini-vacation with my cousin. Check out how I made it.
Number 7: DIY Beautiful Wall Planter easy and affordable: Wall planters are all the rage. They are ideal for small spaces to add color and life. This post was a project made from items I found at the hardware store, the craft store, and the dollar store. It is used to display rooting indoor plants or to display flowers.
Number 6: Fun Cheap and Easy Practical Outdoor Gardening Ideas: Did you ever hear about bag gardening? I tried it this year because it was affordable and assembly was easy. This one was a pretty big 4 foot in diameter garden so I could plant potatoes and string beans. It worked and am planning on using it again next year.
Number 5: The Best Way to Label Mason Jars: If you are like me, you use many mason jars (Affiliate Link) in your home for storage. After many fails, I finally found a way to label (Affiliate Link) glass mason jars (Affiliate Link). Check it out.
Number 4: Chalk Paint Armoire DIY Project Tutorial: This post talks about the largest DIY project I did, which shows step by step how I transformed my father's armoire to a standing craft station for me.
Number 3: Chalk paint antique red end table: This DIY project shows my first experience with chalk paint for an end table in my living room that needed some TLC.
Number 2: How to transform a shallow refrigerator drawer: This post talks about how I organized a long narrow drawer in my fridge.
And, the number 1 post on HomeTalk this year is drum roll, please. How to create an over the door wrapping paper station. I created this post in 2013, but added it to HomeTalk this year. At 109k views, this post was a great success! Feel free to check out the post by clicking below.

I love perusimg through Pinterest for inspiration for my clients. It's great that you've shared your favorite DIYs in one place here on the blog. Personally, my favorite go to is the wrapping paper station. Using vertical space is so efficient and this always surprises my clients 🙂
